Brown Bag Wednesday! Butta Verses, Jabr Jaw + Dee Dubbs, & Name Brand

This Wednesday night at Green Room will yet again prove to be an epic Brown Bag presentation. Fresh from his performance this past weekend at Swarm 7 (Spring Break 4Eva), the duo, Jabr Jaw and Dee Dubbs, return to Fort Lauderdale, representing the renowned and tight knit Black Locust Society. Known, moreover, for his impeccable and consistent delivery and flow, Jabre Jaw never disappoints and never fails to hype a crowd.

Miami’s Name Brand, will certainly keep the music bumping with his creatively spliced electronica/hip hop set, intricately woven together to keep the party spirit alive. Last, but definitely not least, Butta Verses rounds up the brown bag festivities with an impressive resume to show for himself, too. Endorsed by none other than De La Soul, this Bronx native turned Fort Lauderdale, keeps the underground hip hip tradition alive in his creative outlet. Check em out this Wednesday night only at Green Room.

Top 3 YouTube Videos By ¡Mayday!, Performs Tonight at Brown Bag

2 things I learned today: how to write an upside exclamation point (alt+173) and that ¡Mayday! has a highly active YouTube channel– 82 videos to be exact.  But before I dive into my favorite videos, let it be known that local rap duo-turned-six-piece ¡Mayday! is a force to be reckoned with these days. Recently, the group got signed by Tech N9ne’s record label Strange Music and joined the midwest icon on a 70 city tour. They have collaborated with Lil Wayne, Cee Lo, Del The Funky Homosapien, Garcia, Ace Hood, David Banner, Devin The Dude, just to name a few. Their single “Watching Me” was featured on the video game NBA Street. And even though it sucked the last 3 seasons, they had a song on Entourage. Look, I could on and on, but their website bio does a pretty good job.  Just know that these guys are good, and rarely play north of the Dade-Broward county line.

Now, here are some of my favorite ¡Mayday! videos….

1) ¡Mayday! – Death March

They debuted this video last week. It’s so good that I unprovokedly posted this on Jay Z’s Facebook wall.

2) DJ Khaled talks highly of ¡Mayday!

Ok, I find DJ Khaled kind of annoying, but he is a big name and he loves ¡Mayday!. Here’s the proof.

3) ¡Mayday!’s ‘stuck on an island’ cd release footage

If this video doesn’t hype you up about tonight’s performance, I don’t know what will.

BONUS: ¡Mayday! Beer Pong Music Video

An older video by the group. I consider myself a fairly decent beer pong player. I think I could take them.
